Hi. My name is Bob. I play bass for Ottawa-based hard-rock band Wyntr. Welcome to my little space on the interwebs. It’s intended to be a catalog of my various musical undertakings, but life isn’t one-dimensional and when I’m not playing music I’m probably mixing or mastering something, or I’m staring at a computer screen – editing or coding something for need or for fun. Or maybe I’m reading something about philosophy. Maybe I’m writing. I could be indulging my fascination with mathematics, or lamenting my never-ending struggle with touch-typing. It really depends on the day and my current mood because, you see, deep down I’m an absolute geek, and I’m perfectly OK with that!

I made this site so I could have my very own space on the internet that wasn’t tied to a project I’m involved with or a band I’m in. It’s just me. What I’m into, what I’m currently working on, thinking about, dreaming. I’ve always fancied myself as being a halfway decent writer and a blog just seems like the perfect place to put that to the test.

So, what should you expect on here anyway? Well, for starters I’ll have links to all the videos on my YouTube channel here. I’ve also been toying with the idea of a series called ‘How to Band’ where I’ll be chatting with musicians and hopefully some industry folk as well about band things in general. The plan is to have the chats on my YouTube channel and make the transcripts available here as blog posts. Who knows, it might be a lot of fun!My other passions include mathematics, physics and computers so it’s a safe bet there will be semi-regular blog posts on these topics topics as well. Sorry. Not sorry 😉
